Bark Box (September 2014)

All these years I’ve been subscribing to more and more monthly subscription boxes and my kids (dogs!) were never included in all the fun. Well, this month in their second month of receiving a Barkbox and they get so excited every time I start to open one. Here’s what THEY received this month:

Birchbox (September 2014)

Birchbox is growing less and less on me. Its great to try out different products, but I can’t seem to go through the products quick enough each month. Even with swapping samples, I’m finding myself drowning in beauty samples! Anyways, my yearly subscription is up for renewal in October and I think I may take a few months off. The box this month however was so much fun! Here’s what I received this month:

Bark Box (August 2014)

I figured after months and months of me getting subscription boxes, it was about time that I get one for my dogs! If they ever come up with a hotrod subscription box, I’ll get one for the man too! I signed up for a 3 month subscription at Bark Box, and I was able to specify that we have large dogs.

This month’s subscription was nautical themed, which was perfect as we returned home from our Catalina Island vacation the same day we got this box. Here’s what we received!:

Grandma Bowser’s Cheddar Biscuits – $8
The boys gobbled these up so quickly! They are made of great wholesome ingredients, and even real cheese!
Feel Good Treat Co Seafood Chowder – $8
These smelled horrible (due to the herring, whitefish, and clam that are in them). But the boys loved these too! The treats were definitely a win in this box.
Waboba Fetch – $10
This toy is meant to be a water fetch toy. Since our boys neither fetch, nor frequent the water…this will be passed along to a friend with a pup more fond of both of those!
Safemade Nautical Bandana – $10
This bandana was super cute and reversible. The boys aren’t very fond of clothes, but it lasted on them long enough to snap a pic to send to Dad.
Jax and Bones Nautical Wheel RopeToy – $15
This was the biggest hit of the box. The boys were both instantly playing tug of war with it! The inner wheel portion was torn to shreds quickly (the pups destroy EVERYTHING!), but they still gnaw on the outer ring.

Overall this box was a huge win and I know the pups thoroughly enjoyed it. All of us can’t wait until the September Bark Box!

Birchbox (August 2014)

Birchbox is the OG of the subscription box world. I continue to love the samples I get in my Birchbox. Sometimes the month isn’t that great and then months like this month, I love everything! This month’s birchbox theme is “Lighten Up”, to take a break from the hair dryer, the heat, and be free and natural! Here’s what I received:

Hello Breathspray – Full Size $11.50
This has a weird taste of the grapefruit of mint, but I like the idea of a cute packaged breathspray like this!
Laura Mercier Tone Perfecting Eye Creme – Full Size $60
This sample size has a value around $25, so that’s a pretty decent deluxe sample! I’m excited to try this out on my mornings after work when I don’t get much sleep.
Amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo – Full Size $21
I’m a huge huge fan of dry shampoo, so I’m excited to try this sample. Sometimes dry shampoo can leave your hair overly dried, so I’m hoping this one just gives enough texture to keep my blow dry an extra day.

ModelCo Shimmer Bronzer – Full Size $22
I’m not a big user of bronzer, so this is going up for swap. Bronzer just tends to look weird on me, and this shade looks awfully dark as well.
Supergoop Forever Young Hand Cream with SPF – Full Size $11-29.50
I’ve been a long time fan of Supergoop. They make great sunscreen and I’m sure this hand creme will be no exception. Our hands are often somewhere we forget to put sunscreen so this will be an easy and moisturizing way to add SPF protection to my hands.

All I can say is I love me some Birchbox. I recently reached out to Birchbox regarding not receiving emails allowing me to choose a sample to receive each month, or to receive the curated box. Hopefully next month I’ll have a little more discretion in deciding whether I want to pick a sample or wait for the curated surprises!

Blues Jean Bar Express (July 2014)

I received my quarterly Blues Jean Bar Express today! I always get so excited when the huge suitcase of a box shows up on my front doorstep. The clothing was packaged beautifully as usual with tissue and twine. I didn’t receive as many outfits this time but I was happy with the variety of items I received. The only issue I had with this month’s shipment is that I would have liked it to be more summer oriented. After all, it was 85 degrees out and I was trying on long sleeves and jeans. I think that made me not love some of the items that I may have liked if it was October instead. I also did receive a duplicate item, this is only my third box so hopefully they keep a better eye on not sending duplicates – unless is a different size for an item, cause they’re really awesome about doing that if you need a different size!

Bourbon & Boots Box (July 2014)

This box solidified the fact that Bourbon & Boots is by far my most favorite website ever. Their style is me to a T! This past month they sent out a little survey to get a better idea of what makes their subscribers who they are. Well this month they sent a state-specific box, and I could not have been any happier to receive all North Carolina related items! I literally love every single thing I got and love that they thought to customize boxes for each state!

Wantables Intimates (July 2014)

I decided to receive another Wantable Intimates box after stumbling upon a decent promo code. My issue with Wantable Intimates in the past is I’d have different items listed on my shipping receipt, and I always felt shorted that I didn’t receive what I was supposed to. This month they got everything right and overall I’m happy with what I received!

Birchbox (July 2014)

Birchbox is the OG of subscription boxes. I purchased a year-long subscription last year at a decent discount and I still look forward to receiving my Birchbox every month! I recently was able to use points I had accumulated to get some awesome new Benefit cosmetic products. For a first time subscription box person, or someone who is addicted like me, Birchbox is a must have!

Here’s what I received!:
